VIMOS is also supporting the Ethernet LAN versions of these cameras like the VC2038/E. They have a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface and can transfer larger amounts of data (images) quite fast. They can also easily be connected into a network of cameras and PCs working together on the same task. For single pieces the price of a camera is about 140,- EUR higher for the Ethernet version then the price of the cameras with serial interface given below. |

**/ Speed : The given speed is the maximum speed as specified by the camera manufacturer (in frames per second) and therefore only an orientation for comparing cameras. The real speed you can expect depends on the selected video-mode, image-capture methode, the actual shutter and most of all on the complexity of the algorithm you want to run. A camera working without creating output graphics, with a 1 ms shutter and doing only some edge-detections will normally run much faster then the same camera providing an activated full-screen GUI with touch-screen, running with a 20 ms shutter and using tools like i.e. object-recognition. The speed-tables you can download will give more detailed information. However in critical cases carefull consideration is necessary. The best way is to try it out on the target camera. Please ask us if you need speed improvement. MMC = Multi-Media Card The MMC extends the permanent memory of the camera considerably. In contrast to the normal flash it is directly rewritable. |
