VIMOS is an image processing software for so called intelligent ( or smart ) cameras. These cameras have a build in computer that handles image capture, processing and communications with the outside world. Usually such devices have a high performance vs. price ratio. They are also endurable and quite powerfull.

Since everything is within a small box, programming smart cameras is not so simple. At this point VIMOS can help. It offers a powerfull yet flexible set of tools for all the tasks mentioned above. It also hides part of the hardwares complexity. As new smart cameras are produced, VIMOS supports them and the user finds the same programming interface.

To make things easier, VIMOS comes with a set of PC programs for easy editing and simulating the camera software, taking images, transfering data and so on. In total VIMOS will boost program development for intelligent cameras.
